Victoria first messaged me (oh so excitedly!! Her use of MULTIPLE exclamation points made us instant friends!!) two years ago when I celebrated my website launch. “I would be so honored if YOU were our photographer when the time comes, I always figured one day I would be sending you an email asking you to be a part of our day, I already feel giddy emailing you now haha!!!” They weren’t engaged yet, but I had met them both a few years before at 70 Mile while camping with friends, and I knew it wouldn’t be long!
And sure enough a few months later, this popped up in my inbox! “Well, the most amazing, wonderful, greatest thing has happened, Miles and I got engaged!!!! The sweetest thing was, the entire time you and I were talking in October, Miles was already planning our engagement in 70 Mile and 5 days after we last talked we got engaged!!! :) Talk about timing!!”
What followed was months of emails back and forth planning their quadding/forest service road exploring engagement session, and their high tea wedding!! Having met them already, it was a fast friendship with these two!! Victoria is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! We had a few coffee dates over the course of planning and these two are so easy to talk to. Victoria is bubbly and vibrant, and whenever she gets the chance she talks about how amazing Miles is.
Their wedding day had forecasts of rain! And good downpouring rain right up until the night before! The morning of we woke up to showers on and off, but by the time photos rolled around we had full sunshine, the CRAZIEST angry, stormy clouds I’ve ever seen, and the most gorgeous rainbow! It only lasted for a few moments, but I am SO glad it showed up for Victoria! Her laugh of delight was the BEST when she saw it!
Their High Tea, catered by the ever amazing TracyCakes was so delicious! It made for the most elegant, “victorian” intimate wedding! The high tea was immediately after the ceremony, allowing guests to visit and mingle right away with the couple and gave me TONS of time after for photos having no reception to rush off to after! ( HUGE bonus for photos!!)
As things were winding down, I asked Victoria if she had enjoyed her day and all she said (a bit tearfully!) was “It was everything I dreamed it to be.”
Miles and Victoria! I had such an amazing time being a part of your day!! I felt spoiled with all the amazing food, great company and had so many laughs! Love you guys! :)
A HUGE thank you to my stellar second shooter for the day! It was Dan’s first time second shooting a wedding, and I was BLOWN away by his mad skills!! A few of his photos made the “cut” for the blog and I can’t wait to work together again!! (For those of you who are thinking, “hey! That guy looks familiar!” It may be from HERE! :)
